Dr. Charles Nestor

The philosopher George Santayana famously said that those who can not remember the past are doomed to repeat it. Your column on heresy in certain segments of the modern church are a case in point. The NT speaks to two primary false teachings "legalism" and "gnosticism", which threatened the Early Church. You have correctly identified the latter and its insidious modern version. We must always hear the Apostle Paul's enjoiner that knowledge puffs up. Current error has indeed created arrogance and an uncorrectable superior attitude in some cases, which does not reflect the meekness and gentleness of Christ. Thank you for calling our attention to this very serious situation in our Lord's Church.
