My friend, Cortez Kennedy, who also attends Calvary Chapel South Orlando played 11 seasons for the Seattle Seahawks. Cortez was the #3 pick in the NFL draft in 1990 out of the University of Miami. He went on to be one the most dominant interior lineman in the NFL. He was an NFL All Pro for 3 seasons and was elected to 8 NFL Pro Bowls. One of his biggest accomplishments was being named NFL Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press in 1992, a season where his team had a record of 2-14. He was inducted in the Seattle Seahawks Ring of Honor in 2006.
Right now, Cortez, is in the final 15 finalists for induction into the NFL Hall of Fame. This Saturday night 4-7 of those 15 finalists will be elected. So would you pray with me for Cortez Kennedy that he would be elected to the Hall of Fame for the glory of God.
Watch this fun video to see just a few of Cortez' great highlights and to see how dominate he was on the defensive line. Specifically listen for how Warren Moon describes Cortez in the video, a great compliment coming from one of the NFL's all-time leading passers. Hope you enjoy it!
